A neo-modernist marvel, Perianth Hotel celebrates contemporary Greek culture in the heart of its ancient capital, Athens.
Ag. Eirinis square is bustling with sophisticated cafes, historic as well as trendy restaurants and cozy small bars. To have an idea of what the square was like in the past (before its gentrification), look for the quaint shop from old times, on the north side, still selling sewing materials, vintage buttons and lace.
In the streets around the square you can find everything you can imagine: from antiques in the nearby Monastiraki flea market to contemporary Greek design items.
The buildings surrounding the square are occupied by the most creative individuals in the city: fashion designers, graphic artists, painters and tech savvies have rented the most charming rooftops. You can spot them in the square having their lunch break.

Iconic, Meaningfull, Timeless
The most emblematic district of Athens city becomes your neighborhood, with all the city’s treasures within your reach.
One of the oldest in the neighbourhood, the building housing A77 Suites dates back to the early 19th century. As it was typical back in those times, the ground floor used to be where the stables were situated as carriages and horses were the only means of getting around. High ceilings, blue shutters and classical Greek motifs adorning the cornices were the norm for such wealthy family homes.
As the 19th century gave way to the 20th, and waves of people from the islands sought to become part of the flourishing affluence of the capital city, old Athens quickly began to transform into a residentially diverse place as the area Anafiotika brought a more island-feel to the neoclassicism that prevailed. The charm of old Athens is still palpable today, coming through in every little corner and every little nook of Plaka’s alleyways. ᾽Plaka᾽ literally means marble slab in modern Greek and the etymology of the area has been a subject of controversy amongst historians. According to popular opinion, Plaka was named after the word ‘old’ in a long-standing yet almost extinct dialect.
The marble, wood, brass touches and gypsum ceilings with cornice detailing as well as an array of modern art works here and there create an environment of high-end elegance and meaningful luxury, placing A77 Suites among the best luxury hotels in Athens. A77’s twelve exceptional suites await to become your urban sanctuary that immerses you into a tale of tangible history. A77 Suites philosophy is about reviving the city’s neoclassical soul. Having maintained the frame and interiors as close as possible to the original structure, A77 Suites is an ode to Athens’ neoclassical architecture.
In addition to bridging the past and present of Athens city, A77 also aspires to fully embody the ancient Greek hospitality ideal which prescribed that hosting guests must be both a pleasure and duty, treating them not as strangers, but with heartfelt care as if they were the closest of friends.

A QUIET, COOL OASIS IN THE HISTORICAL HEART OF THE CAPITAL
We love places with a past and stories to tell. The Modernist Athens settled into the former Canadian Embassy on a quiet street that overlooks a leafy residential square in Kolonaki. We transformed the handsome corner building with its many balconies in signature Modernist style, combining casual, contemporary luxury with mid-century detailing and minimalist Danish design. It’s the perfect port of call for constant travellers who know how to live in the moment and are at home wherever they set down their bag. Flying light and often solo, expecting seamless comforts, a bit of local buzz, and highly professional yet completely unpretentious service, they’ll find nothing less than everything they need at the Modernist Athens.
Modernist rooms come in S, M, L and XL, tailored to individual needs and cut from the same cloth with customised furniture, mood lighting and seamless comforts accessorised by such considered details as Marshall speakers, and exceptional mattresses. Our luminous spaces are fitted with curtains for filtered daylight, as well as double-glazed windows and block-out blinds for optimal sleep. Solid wood floors in ash blond provide a soft backdrop to custom joinery that combines anthracite timber, brass and black steel, and to verdant accents introduced by plants both inside and out. Ample marble sinks and walk-in showers complete the retro-modern elegance of bathrooms styled in signature Modernist black and white.

A NEW WAY OF LIVING IN DOWNTOWN ATHENS
A UNIQUE BLEND OF HOSPITALITY AND GREEK CULINARY EXPERIENCESituated at the foot of the Acropolis in the historical heart of Athens, Ergon House is the seventh heaven for food enthusiasts, complete with ‘rooms above the inn’. We’ve conceived a spectacular marketplace, a modern-day Agora with a constellation of greengrocers, a butcher’s, fishmonger’s and bakery, a delicatessen and roastery, along with a bar and restaurant which celebrate the best of Greek cuisine culture. And we have expanded on the unique experience of an epicurean boutique hotel by creating cool common ground in which to cook and lounge, a gym for a good conscience, as well as a roof terrace planted with olive trees that has unbeatable views of the city.
Completing this holistic hospitality experience built on the foundations of Greek Food, Ergon House offers contemporary living spaces spread over the floors above the marketplace. All rooms include our signature breakfast and come in four sizes, with privileged access to communal kitchens and lounges, a gym and panoramic rooftop terrace. The spaces are a collaboration with leading local designers and artists – the tribute to Greece ever-present in natural materials, traditional craft and references to the vernacular, paired with a strong contemporary line.
Large, double-glazed windows invite all the spectacle and none of the soundtrack to views of the Parthenon and city, or the buzz of the Agora. Seamless service is a given and we’ve done away with in-room dining because the whole Ergon House experience places food centre stage. So, while the curated minibar delicatessen should tide you over, the Agora awaits with some of best food in town, or fresh market ingredients with which to make your own magic in one of the dedicated kitchens.

Lisa S.: “We stayed on the concierge floor, which included breakfast, daily snacks and drinks, and a happy hour that could be dinner. It had a great view of the acropolis. Also beautiful views of the Parthenon. We upgraded to the executive floor for not much more and they had breakfast, snacks during the day, and happy hour. The happy hour food was dinner for us. It turned out that the Intercontinental was the hotel that Windstar rushed for their pre-cruise package so we were able to get a bus ride to the port from there. The only negative was the pool was packed! Otherwise, it was a great hotel.”
